Firefighter Joseph P. Benkert, a twelve-year member of Chemical & Salvage Co. No. 2, passed away suddenly on July 20, 2006.
Joe, or, as he was affectionately known, "Froggy", became a firefighter with the Lindenhurst Fire Department in 1994.

He was an active firefighter and was serving as a Department Director at the time of his passing. We are all saddened by his untimely death. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Joanne and their three children... Joseph Jr, Kaitlyn, and Amy.
