The Lindenhurst Fire Department was alerted for a vehicle fire at the end of South 8th Street about 11:10 on February 25, 2026. Assistant Chiefs Brink and Batz responded first. Chief Batz arrived on scene and had an involved vehicle. Engines 1-6-2, 1-6-22 First Responder 1-6-80 and Ambulance 1-6-17 responded. Engine 1-6-22 was first due and that crew put one line into operation to extinguish the fire in about 10 minutes. The crew from 1-6-2 overhauled the vehicle. There were no injuries.
