On Sunday November 12th, 2023 the Lindenhurst Fire Department hosted the first ever Town of Babylon joint Junior Fire Department Extrication Drill at Fireman's Park. The event was coordinated by North Lindenhurst Ex-Captain Cirino Sesto. Juniors from Amityville, Copiague, Deer Park, East Farmingdale, North Babylon, West Babylon, and North Lindenhurst participated in the drill. The instructors for the drill were our own Chief Brink (Ret. NYPD Emergency Service Truck 3), North Lindenhurst Ex- Chief Pete Maslinski (Ret. FDNY Squad 270) and Andrew Dinkel (Ret. FDNY Rescue 1). The juniors worked together and learned how to use various extrication tools and had three vehicles to use them on. The event was a success and had over 60 juniors participate. More joint drills are being planned for the future.
