South 3rd Street House Fire

On the afternoon of April 22nd, 2022 the Lindenhurst Fire Department was alerted for a house on South 3rd Street. First Assistant Chief Collins was the first to respond and was advised that numerous calls were being taken. Chief Collins arrived and transmitted a working fire and had fire showing from the garage of a two story home that was extending up to the second floor on the exterior of the house. Engine 1-6-6 was first due and was supplied by Engine 1-6-2. Engine crews stretched three lines with two going into operation, the crew from Ladder 1-6-4 laddered, searched and vented the house with all searches being negative. There were no reported injuries and the fire was under control within an hour. Mutual aid to the scene was provided by the North Lindenhurst Fire Department for an Engine, the Copiague Fire Department for RIT and the West Babylon Fire Department for an Ambulance
